How to Change a Custom YouTube URL

YouTube channels can switch their custom URL up to 3 times each year.

To change the URL of your YouTube channel, start by signing into YouTube Studio.

  1. From the left navigation menu select Customization, and then select Basic info.
  2. Under your current custom URL click DELETE.
  3. Under About, click your custom URL.
  4. Click Remove, and then click Remove again to confirm you want to delete your URL.

Know that you will most likely be unable to set another custom URL immediately after removing an old one. YouTube says it might require a few days for the past URL to deactivate.
